I just got word from Bob Verish via a quick message he sent to Stratofox
that he spent a couple days at the Black Rock Desert. He was only
reporting good driving conditions on the playa up to Black Rock Point.
I have a hunch about what he would have been looking at up there. :-)
I'm curious to hear more when he gets a chance. This is the first time
since the crater theory has been posted that I'm aware of a geologist
with impact crater experience visiting the area. Much more than that,
Bob is familiar with all the info we've assembled about this.
The crater theory has been through many rounds of cross-checking with
other info as we've gone through the learning process. So far at every
chance to sink or swim, the theory has remained afloat. But now it looks
like we finally have on-the-ground observations and scrutiny from an expert.
It's a level of test well beyond what it has been put through before.
I'm very interested to hear what Bob has to say following his visit.
How did we do?
