[BR-Crater] Google's new relief maps

If any of you have tried using the satellite photos on Google Maps to
look at the suspected impact site at Black Rock or to look for other
potential impact sites, you probably noticed it's tough to sift through
Google's stitching together of different photos from different satellites,
different seasons and different times of day. Sometimes what may look
like a circular feature is nothing but what I call a "Googillusion".

They have shaded relief maps now. Use the "terrain" button to switch to
them. I put together a page with samples. This includes a confirmed
complex crater at Sierra Madera TX, the Black Rock suspected impact site
and another one in the Black Rock region we call "Donut Basin".

You'll notice the typical complex crater with central uplift profile
at Sierra Madera.

There's also another one on there at the bottom, which I don't know what
to think about. I stumbled on it today. I was looking on the relief
maps for the Alamo impact site in southern Nevada. They found breccias
with confirmed shocked minerals, but haven't located the actual crater.
They think it's west of Alamo NV, and encompasses the secret Groom Lake
air base - so you can imagine what problems they're having researching
that. I found what looks like one sort of near there, but not where
they were looking for it. It's in the section at the bottom titled
"What's this?" The ring is 45-50 miles in diameter at the borders of
Nevada, Arizona and Utah.

Happy New Year everyone!
