I found CalTrans' web site about the I-80 Sierra rehabilitation construction:

There's no traffic-impacting construction today. Sunday there will be
closures and detours in both directions. That's going to be ugly.

For those of us who must cross the Sierras to get to Black Rock, we'll have
to refer to that web site for all trips there this year. I think the story
for 2009 will be a repetition of taking alternate routes and allowing extra
time.

Here's what a daytime stoppage of I-80 looked like in 2000. I've really
tried to avoid these since.
