I chatted with Scot about this today in IRC.  The circular area he was
considering at the time was the curvature of the Kamma Mountains.
That appears to be part of a concentric 30-mile/50 km ring within the
51-mile/82 km ring observation that I posted today.

We were looking at too small a zoom level on the maps to see this.
