After postponing the Black Rock trip plans last weekend, it looks good for
this weekend. An added bonus - at one week past the full moon, we'll have
the evening to see the amazing starry sky before moonrise. We'll be camping
at Upper High Dry lakebed where there is no city light glare at all.
So far here's the plan that's coming together...
* Tom White KG6BRK will leave Friday from Placerville and probably be the
first to arrive at camp at Upper High Dry lakebed.
* I'll be leaving from San Jose when the South Bay group can go on Friday.
* Andrew Klofas KI6LZP will be coming with the group from the South Bay.
* Joel Goodin will also come with the South Bay group. He doesn't have a
callsign yet - but he passed his Technician exam Saturday. He'll be
qualifying for Stratofox membership on this trip. (Joel's father Dave
Goodin KI6KGP is a Stratofox member and has been our chase plane pilot
or crew a few times.)
So my vehicle is full. We'll need another 4x4 from the South Bay before
any other non-drivers can be accomodated. It's still early in the week
so this is a good sign. Let us know if you're coming or considering it.
As usual, the exact lineup of events is up to those who attend. I mentioned
some possibilities last week.
