Limestone has been described as being in one of the Sulphur formations.
Limestone could be examined for both shatter cones and fossils. Fossils
can date the rock...if that hasn't already been done. The description did
not say whether it was amorphous or layered limestone; if it's layered
then examination can be easier by splitting along the grain of the layers.
I've only hunted fossils in layered limestone. But I don't know what
happens to shocked layered limestone. It's possible that the grain would
be lost or hidden, so selecting only layered rock might filter out the
shocked rock which we most want. Once we find shocked rock, then dating
the layer becomes of higher priority.
